Ah! It all started with our college project. We had to produce a 2D animation short film in one semester, and with classes and exams, it really got difficult. So we sat down with our pens and papers, to jot down few interesting thoughts we had in our minds. But nothing really was come off, considering the thin deadline we had. So we decided to grab a quick bite and get down to the business after that. Then, we landed up in one of the dominoes nearby and order a medium farmhouse pizza with garlic bread. As we were waiting for your order, it started raining rather heavily. We could see the road getting all messed up, thanks to the big transparent windows dominoes have. So, in the midst of everything, jayati, my friend, happened to catch her eye on a very old man trying to cross the road. She just tapped her hand on my shoulder and said, look at the old man, doesn't he look familier. I said, yeahh, and just suddenly stuck me, he looks like the old umbrella man, one of the characters from our old english school book. And there we had it, our story for the project was right in front of us. But the more easy it looked at the first, more difficult it got. We had to deal with a lot of dialouges, and recording those were a headache too.
But things worked out, we actually animated each and every lip movement of all the characters, as we were not really happy with the auto-generated thing. We made all the backgrounds, and the characters. Phewww! it was tuf.
In the end, I guess we were satisfied with the output, yes! could have been much better. but considering the knowledge we had that time about softwares and techniques, we did a pretty decent job.
